The transition from the JDDA to the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) marks an exciting new chapter for Downtown Johnstown. With strong voter support and a shared vision for the future, the DDA will provide new opportunities to enhance and invest in our downtown district. This page will serve as the primary source for updates throughout the transition process.
80% Voter Approval
Johnstown voters overwhelmingly approved the creation of the DDA through Ballot Measures 2B and 2C, demonstrating strong community support for continued investment in downtown revitalization and economic growth.
Investment & Revitalization
The DDA brings dedicated funding resources and economic development tools that can help support infrastructure improvements, beautification efforts, redevelopment projects, and long-term community enhancements.
A Collaborative Transition
The JDDA and DDA will work together throughout the transition process to ensure continuity of downtown programs, events, and initiatives while creating new opportunities for businesses, property owners, residents, and visitors.
What is Changing?
The JDDA is entering an exciting new phase as many of its traditional programs, events, and responsibilities transition to the newly established Downtown Development Authority (DDA).

While the JDDA will continue to exist as a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization, the DDA will serve as the primary organization responsible for leading downtown revitalization efforts, supporting economic development initiatives, and carrying forward many of the programs and events that have helped make downtown Johnstown a vibrant destination.
Current Transition Updates (as of July 2026)
DDA Executive Board
In June, the Town Council appointed the inaugural Board of Directors for the Johnstown Downtown Development Authority (DDA), marking an important milestone in establishing the new organization. The DDA Executive Board has since held its first official meeting on July 7, where members were sworn into office and elected the organization's board officers, officially launching the Authority's governance.
Fall Fest Event
The JDDA will continue to organize and operate the annual Fall Fest celebration.
This signature community event remains a priority, and the JDDA is committed to delivering another successful experience for residents, businesses, and visitors.

JDDA Memberships During the Transition
During this transition period, the JDDA is not accepting new memberships or processing membership renewals.
However, businesses and community members will continue to have access to JDDA resources, programs, and opportunities to participate in events, including serving as vendors and sponsors, throughout the transition.
Existing JDDA Memberhips
In recognition of our ongoing commitment to current members, all existing JDDA memberships—including those that expired at any point during 2026—will continue to receive membership benefits through December 31, 2026.
